This 8 days Morocco tour from Marrakech will begin in Marrakech and travel via the High Atlas highlands via Ouarzazate to the Erg Chebbi Desert. Ait benhaddou Kasbah, Telouat Kasbah, etc.
Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa,” and Roses Valley’s “Atlas studio,” the continent’s next-largest photography facility. Davids Valley is our journey to Tenghir, then down to the Merzouga desert, where we will do camel trekking, after spending the night in the Dades gorge.
After breakfast, we will return to our journey to Marrakech in a different way, stopping at Rissani Markt, Tazarine, Nkob, Dra Valley, Ouarzazate, and finally Marrakech. Overnight in the Berber tents in the heart of the dunes.
Today you will explore Marrakech city with a local guide. On this day, you will visit Bahia Palace, which is a 19th-century monument, and Saadian Tombs that return to the 17th century. Next, we will visit Jamaa El Fnaa after having lunch at a local restaurant.
Jamma El Fnaa is the largest square in Marrakech where local people and tourists share this place for entertainment. While you are there, you may enjoy watching Gnoua dancers listening to the storytellers, and passing by water sellers.
Koutoubia Tower (One of the largest mosques in Morocco built in the 12th century). After that, you will be guided to explore the Souks where you may observe crafts, carpenters, babouches, and dyers. At your accommodation, you will spend the overnight.
The best 8 days from Marrakech to Merzouga will start at 8 am, and we leave Marrakech traveling to Ouarzazate. On our way, we go through the Atlas Mountains crossing the fascinating Tizi N’Tichka pass which is 2,260m over high over the High Atlas Mountains. During the journey, we will visit the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui
in Telouet traveling through several Berber villages until we reach Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. It is the largest one in Morocco, and it was built by Ethami El Gloui in the 18th century. Many movies have been shot in this Kasbah such as Gladiator and The Kingdom of Heaven. When we arrive at Ouarzazate, where you will have dinner and spend the overnight at the hotel, we will visit Movies Studios.
Visiting Touarirt Kasbah is the first thing we do after having breakfast. The journey continues traveling through the Zagora mountains of the Anti Atlas through the breathtaking port of Tizi Tinifift which is 1600 high over Draa Valley.
On our way, you will be able to enjoy seeing several Berber villages and Kasbahs from their interior. Before we reach Mharech Gorges where you will spend the overnight at a hotel, we will leave behind N’kob, Tarazine, and Alnif. A large number of these areas are to be crossed during the Dakar Rally.
The third day of the trip continues alongside Dakar Vally’s track passing over the oasis and dunes of Ouzina, people solitary, and dry river beds. Before reaching Erg Chebbi (the largest desert in Morocco) where we will have a Saharan Pizza for lunch with Berber, we will visit a few Berber villages on our way. Leaving the hotel with the required equipment, we will head to camp in the middle of the Sahara desert where will have dinner and spend the night.
On this day, you will watch the brilliant sunrise over the dunes in the early morning. After that, we will be going back to the hotel to have breakfast and a refreshing shower. The journey continues to explore the Erg Chebbi whose dunes’ altitude is more than 250m. We will cross the old track of the Dakar Rally.
On our journey, we will visit Tissardmin’s oasis before we observe the lifestyle of nomad people in their tents. Khamlia will be also visited. It is a village where Gnawa people, who have their roots in Mali, live. After having mint tea with one of the families and enjoying listening to the unique Gnawa music, we will go back to the hotel where we will have lunch. Your afternoon is free for a beautiful sunset and a stroll over the dunes. Dinner will be at the hotel where you will spend the night.
On the day number of your trip, you will visit Rissani (an Alouite dynast and the first imperial city in Morocco) after having breakfast and a shower at the hotel. After exploring Rissani where the largest Souks (traditional markets), we will head to Erfoud where you will visit the interesting work-shops fossils before we reach the Palmeral of Tafilalet. Todra Gorges are the next place we visit before we arrive at Dades Valley where you will have dinner at the hotel.
We will travel through the Road of Thousand Kasbah after leaving Dades Valley. The tour proceeds to visit Kalaat M’Gouna which is also called the Valley of Roses. Skoura’s palm groves are where the well-known kasbah is located. After we finish visiting this area, the destination will be Marrakech. On the 6th day, the tour comes to an end when you are at your accommodation.
On this day, the 8 days tour comes to an end after we drive you to the airport of Marrakech Al Manara.
