Itinerary:

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Volubilis  – Meknes – Fes

Our destination will be Fez, but before that, we will travel through the current capital city of Morocco, Rabat. On our journey, we will visit Meknes city. There are some interesting places to explore in Meknes, which was founded by Moulay Ismail, such as Bab Mansour (The entrance of the Medina), Madrassa Bouanania, and Sehrij Esouani.

Before reaching Fez Volubilis will be the next place you visit. It is an interesting and ancient site that was once the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania before it became the southernmost city of the Roman Empire. Volubilis is the prominent ruins of the Romans in  Morocco. At the hotel, your accommodation will be in Fez.

Day 2: Fes sightseeing

Accompanied by a local guide you will explore Fez El Bali( the old city) after having breakfast at the hotel. During your journey in Fez El Bali, you will enjoy visiting the Royal Palace, Karouine Mosque (the first established university in the world according to Guinness record, UNESCO, and many other scholars), and Moulay Idriss II’s Mausoleum. After having lunch at a local restaurant, the tour continues to visit the Nejjarine Fountain, Batha Museum, and the ancient Harem Garden. You have a break to enjoy the fascinating view of Fez City before you go back to the hotel.

Day 3: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

Leaving Fez after having breakfast, we will travel through the Atlas Mountains reaching Cedar Forest. The zone is outstanding for its plenteous untamed life, and numerous kinds of winged creatures, wild hogs, and Barbary monkeys might be seen on our way. The tour continues through the fascinating Middle Atlas Mountains.  Midelt is where we have lunch before we will have the chance to enjoy Oued Ziz which streams 282km into the Western Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, we will be in Merzouga, where we will spend the overnight, after traveling through Errachidia and Kabahs with their huge palm trees.

Day 4:  Tour around Erg Chebbi by 4×4 – Camel ride and overnight in Desert Camp

Exploring Erg Chebbi (the largest sand desert in Morocco) is what you will be doing next after having breakfast at the hotel. You will visit a village where the Gnaoua people live in. They are famous for Gnaoua music. There, you will enjoy their music and observe their lifestyle.

After visiting some Berber Nomads and palm tree’ oases, you will go back to have lunch in Merzouga. Having a break will be followed by heading toward sand dunes of the Sahara desert where you will camp. On today’s journey, you will have the chance to enjoy the wonderful Sahara Desert sunset. You will have a special night having dinner in a Berber tent gazing at a clear sky full of stars.

Day 5:  Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades valley

On the fifth day of your tour, you will wake up early, after enjoying a wonderful night, to watch the fascinating sunrise. Next, you will ride camels back to the hotel where you will have breakfast and a refreshing shower. The tour will be resumed at Dades Valley. Traveling through Rissani (where the largest Souks in Morocco are located), we will continue the Tour toward Erfoud which is a small town known for the huge production of dates.

Tinejdad and the breathtaking Todra Gorges (the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco) are the next places we will travel through until we arrive at Dades Valley. It is a series of rugged gorges lined along the Dadès River. The majestic sand castles and monkey toes (a fascinating rock formation) are a point of attraction in Dades Valley. 

Day 6:  Dades valley – Rose valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou – Atlas Mountain – Marrakech

Today’s program will be visiting the Hollywood of Africa (Ouarzazate) after having breakfast in Dades Valley. In Ouarzazate, we will visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou which is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This Kasbah, the Studios Cinema, served as a location for making many movies such as The Kingdom of Heaven (2005), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), and a part of the TV series Game of Thrones. On our way, we will travel through the pass of Tizi n’Tichka (2260m high over the High Atlas Mountains). After driving through several Berber villages, we will arrive at Marrakech in the evening.

Day 7: A day to visit Marrakech (Guided tour: Marrakech Sightseeing)

On the seventh day will explore Marrakech City which is called also the Red City. Proceeding your trip, you will be able to enjoy visiting many interesting monuments including the Koutoubia Mosque ( One of the largest mosques in Morocco), Bahia Palace (a 19th-century monument), Majorelle Gardens, and Dar Si Said which is a jewelry museum. After having lunch, optional, at a restaurant in El Medina, you will enjoy strolling through the brilliant Souks (traditional markets). Jamaa El Fnaa Square is where you will be able to have a cup of coffee or Moroccan tea and enjoy the sunset from the terrace of a café. At a hotel, you will spend the overnight.

Day 8: Marrakech – Casablanca – Transfer to Airport

On the last day of your tour, you will leave Marrakech toward the international airport Mohamed 5 in Casablanca, traveling through the imperial cities. At the airport, 8 Days Tour From Casablanca to the Imperial Cities and Sahara comes to an end.
