On this 11 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we will travel from Tangier to Tetouan through traditional villages. Approaching Chefchaouen ( the blue city ). Following that, we will go to Volubilis (the Berber Roman ruins), the imperial city of Meknes, and spend a full day in Fes with a local guide. Traveling via the Middle Atlas via Ifrane (the Moroccan Switzerland), Azrou, cedar forest, passing by many cities, Midelt (the capital of apples), Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m), Valley of the palm grove.
We will then drive a different route to Marrakech, going through Rissani Market, Todra Gorge, Dades Gorge, and Ait ben Haddou before arriving in Marrakech. Erfoud, Rissani, overnight in a Berber tent, Merzouga Desert, 44 around Erg Chebbi, landscape, Nomad, camel trekking, and Gnawa Music. Full day in Marrakech with a local guide. having one day to visit Essaouira and coming back.
11 days from tangier Chefchaouen will start through the breathtaking Rif Mountains, where you will stop to enjoy the panoramic views, we will be traveling after picking you up. On your journey, you will enjoy the fascinating landscapes. After arriving at Chechouen, you will notice that the city has Andalusian-style Spanish architecture, and painted walls with brilliant blue colors. In the evening, you will have a nice at one of the rooftop restaurants enjoying the beauty of the city.
The tour proceeds to Volubilis after having a nice breakfast. On your journey, you will travel through several interesting Rif villages including Ouazan. After exploring the most important ruins of the Roman Empire in Morocco, you will resume the journey toward Meknes where you will have lunch. In Meknes, you will visit the great Bab Mansour, which was built in 1732. It is known for its marble columns and geometric ornamentation. You will also have a visit to the Moulay Ismail shrine.
In the late afternoon, where will drive to Fez where you will spend the night at your accommodation.
In Fez, you will visit Fez El Bali (the old city) and stroll through its narrow alleys and streets. Before we visit the Jewish quarter (the first established Mellah in Morocco in the 16th century), we will explore the Royal Palace gates. Today’s plan will be to make you able to visit the historical and cultural monuments such as the first established university in the world. You will also have a visit to the Tennaries, the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, and the Attarine Museum. You will enjoy the mysterious view over the entire Fez El Medina after having lunch.
After leaving Fez, our destination will be the Merzouga desert. On the way, we will travel through Ifrane (Switzerland of Morocco) before we stop to visit the beautiful and well-known Cedar Forest (the largest forest in Morocco) where Berber apes live. Before we reach Merzouga, we will cross Tiz Nalghamt Pass mountain whose elevation is 2.093 meters where you stop to have a mint tea and enjoy the panoramic view while capturing photos until you arrive at Midelt. After arriving at Merzouga, you will spend the night at a campsite.
To a local hotel in Merzouga, you will head to have a refreshing shower and a nice breakfast before you leave for Ouarzazate. During your journey, you will have the chance to explore Berber villages. After visiting Todra Gorges, a series of limestone river canyons where most visitors enjoy hiking, you will continue the tour to Dades Gorges where you’ll have dinner at a local hotel.
Ouarzazate is the destination on the 6th day of the tour after having breakfast. On your way, you will travel through the famous Road of Thousand Kasbah. In Kalaat M’Gounat (the Valley of Roses), you will have a stop. It is famous for the beauty of Roses. The Festival of Roses is held every year in May. The trip continues to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which has served as a location to film many movies like Lawrence of Arabia and part of the Game of Thrones television series. This Kasbah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We will be traveling through the pass of Tizi N’Tichka, which is 2.260m over the high Atlas Mountains, to reach Essaouira after having breakfast. It is the Pearl of the Atlantic. We will stay in a Riad after your arrival in the afternoon. Murrells, the fortifying walls of the city, is where you will head to enjoy the breathtaking sunset. At night, we’ll be blessed to have a supper of the freshest fish in the city, before we stroll through its calm and pleasant setting.
On day number eight of the tour, you will investigate the ancient city which was named Mogador, which means “wall”, during the Portuguese occupation. It is regarded as one of the brilliant Atlantic coastal cities. At the Riad, you will spend the night.
After having a nice meal for lunch at the port, the destination is Marrakech where you will spend the night at the hotel/Riad. On your way, you will have a few stops.
During this day, you will be exploring Marrakech sightseeing and monuments accompanied by a local guide. On your journey, you’ll visit the famous and large square of Jamma El Fnaa, Koutoubia Mosque (one of the largest mosques in Africa), Souks (authentic markets), palaces, and interesting museums. The new city of Gueliz, Majorelle Gardens, which were built by a French artist in 1929, and Menara Gardens (created in the 12th century) will be also visited.
After having lunch, you will have the time of your own to visit the city.
