The 7 days from Tangier will start to the blue town Chefchouen. The journey continues toward Fez through the holy city of Moulay Idris. On our way, we will stop to visit Volubilis which is the most important ruins of the Roman Empire in Morocco. After having lunch, we will head to Meknes (The Versailles of Morocco) where we visit some interesting monuments. After we arrive at Fez, you will check in to a hotel where you’ll spend the overnight.
The tour proceeds with a local guide to explore Fez after you eat your breakfast at the hotel. The program will be visiting the novel city of Fez (Fez El-Jadid) where the Jewish quarter is (El Mellah). During the journey, you’ll visit the Royal Palace which contains seven gates. It is considered an astonishing model of modern restoration.
After that, we will drive along the Ramparts enjoying ceramics. In Fez El Bali (the old city), you will enjoy strolling through the authentic city that returns to the 12th century. It is the first established imperial city in Morocco. The foundation of Fez was in the 8th century by Moulay Idriss the 1st and his son Moulay Idriss the 2nd. At a local café or restaurant, you will have tea or coffee while you are enjoying the fascinating view of the entire city. The overnight will be spent at the hotel.
On this day, we leave Fez toward the Merzouga desert. On our journey, we will travel through the panoramic range of the Atlas Mountains. On the way, we will stop at Cedar Forest which lies in the Middle Atlas Mountains, and Azrou which is known as a handicraft center. In Midelt, the capital of apples, you will have lunch. On your way, you will visit Erfoud, where the interesting work-shops fossils, and Rissani which is famous for its large souks. In a nomad tent in Erg Chebbi Merzouga’s desert, you will have dinner and spend the night.
You will enjoy the mysterious sunrise over the sand dunes after you get up in the early morning. After having breakfast, the tour continues to explore the magical sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. After having lunch in a nomadic tent, you will be one of the nomad families to have a Saharan mint tea with them and observe their interesting lifestyles. After coming back to the hotel by a 4WD, you will enjoy a warm Hammam (bath).
The destination today will be Dades Valley (a series of rugged gorges lined along the Dades River) after the unforgettable experience in the Sahara Desert. Before you reach Dades Valley, you will visit Todra Gorges where most visitors enjoy hiking and exploring the majestic sandcastles. The overnight will be spent at the hotel in Dades Valley.
To Marrakech, you will travel through Kasbah Taourirt and Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou which has served as a location to film many movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth. On your way, you will cross the pass of Tizi N’Tichka, which is 2260m high over the High Atlas, and appreciate the fascinating panoramic of the range of the Atlas Mountains. In Marrakech, you will spend the night.
The seventh day of the tour will be dedicated to exploring the sightseeing of Marrakech. It is one of the four imperial cities in Morocco. During your journey, you will visit Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace (a 19th-century monument), and Saadian Tombs which return to the 17th century.
You will also explore the Koutoubia Mosque which is one of the largest mosques in Morocco and Africa. Jamaa El Fnaa is what you will visit in the evening. Local people and tourists share this place for entertainment. They can, for example, enjoy watching Gnoua dancers, listening to the storytellers, and passing by water sellers.
